Several fun programs written in 68000 Assembler on the Commodore Amiga. The purpose of these programs was simply to explore the Amiga’s hardware capabilities and to have fun.

The programs below were tested on Amiga Emulator UAE version 0.6.9 R12.

Misc

The small test application below moves five sprites and draws some lines using the processor only – no Amiga custom chips are involved.

Vector

The first screenshot shows my first working vector graphics algorithm.

The second screenshot shows a little demo application in which I combined the Copper custom chip, a three-layered star scrolling, and the previously mentioned vector graphics algorithm.

Demo

The next screenshot shows my first fully working Amiga demo application featuring three moving bars (Copper), a star layer scrolling (processor), a scrolling text line (Blitter), and sound.

MegaDemo II

Here you can see a part of a so-called Mega-Demo. Unfortunately, the other members of our small computer club were not quite as enthusiastic about writing a mega-demo, so my part was the only one that ever got finished ;)

The demo features the usual star scrolling, two rotating color lines (Copper), a scroll line (Blitter), a rotating logo (Blitter), four sprites flying around, and sound.

Game

This was my first attempt at writing a game on the Amiga. The bottom stripes move to create the impression that the airplane is flying over the terrain.

Coder

This program was intended for encrypting floppy disks so their contents would be accessible only by password.

The GUI is non-standard, meaning no AmigaOS GUI libraries are used. Directory loading is implemented and the GUI is fully operational, but the actual encryption algorithms were never finalized.

Seek & Destroy (S&D)

This is a classic fly-and-shoot game. Unfortunately, the version I found on the Amiga disks is broken, so the actual game can no longer be started – only the menus shown here still work.

Steering the helicopter over a landscape and firing rockets were already working, but the full game was never finalized.
