An application for comparing the cost of traditional power supply against a power generator.

The ‘Energy Cost Calculation’ application was used by the sales department of a company selling electrical generators and standby sets. A sales representative’s typical task was to compare the efficiency and potential savings of an electrical generator against a standard power supply. This application automates most of the steps that previously had to be done by hand.

Main Screen 1/4
Main Screen 1/4

The first screen asks for the customer’s address and their electrical power consumption over a given period.

Main Screen 2/4

The second screen requires the customer’s monthly consumption values. Any extra power purchased during the specified period must also be entered.

Main Screen 3/4

The third screen accounts for the customer’s thermal data, such as oil or gas consumption. Since the generator produces waste heat while running and that heat can be reused for heating purposes, these values need to be factored into the calculation as well.

On the fourth screen, the electrical generator’s specifications are selected before proceeding to the final calculation.

The application can load, save, and print customer data along with the calculation results.
