An application for monitoring productivity in small to medium-sized businesses in the manufacturing industry.
The software was used to provide controlling services to customer companies, primarily regional shoe manufacturers. Collected productivity data was analyzed on a daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis, helping customers improve the efficiency of their manufacturing processes.
The program uses a numbering system to classify the different data collections. The numbering encodes the hierarchical structure of the company and its departments. Each department is assigned a 3-part number, where each part represents a level in the organizational structure.
Organization Number Assignment
The next step is to create the actual departments within the previously defined hierarchy. Numbers are mapped to actual department names.
Tasks are classified into general, common, and supporting categories. Each task is assigned a two-digit number: common tasks are numbered 80–89, supporting tasks 90–99, and general tasks 00–79. General tasks are defined later during the actual data collection phase.
On the following screen, employees are assigned to departments and their standard working hours are defined.
The following screens show the data collection interface. Data must be entered into these forms on a daily basis.
Based on the entered data, the software offers the following reports:
Daily Productivity Departments
- Daily Productivity Tasks Productivity of all tasks within a department on a given day, including monthly totals.
- Daily Productivity Departments Daily productivity figures for departments on a single day.
- Productivity Times Time-based productivity over the specified period.
- Productivity Tasks Task productivity over the defined period. Only values within the tolerance range are included in the average calculation.
- Distribution Time Departments Distribution of employee absence times over the defined period.
- Distribution Activity Times Distribution of employee activity times over the defined period.
- Amount Task Times Task time totals over time.
- Distribution Task Department Distribution of tasks per department, limited to the seven most frequent tasks in each department.
The macro feature allows combining multiple reports for display or printing.
